Gambel Oak is a common oak species in Utah but isn’t so much known as a tree, because it tends to be very small, and more shrub like, but this particular tree was planted over 150 years ago on a pioneer homestead. I’m very happy with how the handful of bowls I got to make from it turned out and was very impressed with how easily they turned.
