American Sycamore is another favorite wood of mine, although I’ve turned quite a bit of it over the years I’ve really prefer it as a furniture lumber than a turning lumber. the fleck that visible from the Medullary rays when the wood is quarter sawn make it in my opinion one of the most beautiful wood species around for eye-catching small pieces or parts on larger projects. It’s fairly common in my area but not farmed for lumber so any that I work with is locally sourced.
