This is a plate I turned from an exotic African wood commonly known as Zebrawood in the US, named after the light and dark stripes in the grain, but anyone who has worked with it knows it might as well be named after the way it smells when you cut it! Fortunately the smell doesn’t linger and isn’t present on the finished piece
